We have been staying in Santa Teresa for a month now and have a good idea of the major costs of a holiday here. In today’s post, we dive deep into the cost of living in Santa Teresa per week.

We stayed at an Air BnB called bamboo maze. It’s clean, in a great location and decently priced.
Something to be aware of when booking your air BnB is your location! it lies between the ocean and a steep hill. If you don’t have your own transport be careful not to book on the hill. Public transport is very scarce and only runs on the main road and there are not many taxis around. However, if your budget allows you could hire a motorbike or ATV for around $60 per day (cheapest option) or a car from Alamo for $55 per day.
One last thing to consider when booking your accommodation, and this might sound so simple is knowing what you need.
The things we have to have is:
– Wifi we work remotely
– Kitchen saves a lot of money
– and we normally choose places with AC. It gets hot and humid In Costa Rica, especially by the beach.
– Patio or garden
– parking if you need
Luxury extras we like:
– we love to have a pool (but its a luxury item and we often don’t have one)
– washing machine and dryer
Places we love:
Casa Esperanza, vista a la jungle $68
Cozy Studio w/pool $70
Beachside Apartment with Pool $109
100Mb Quiet cozy 200 m from Beach $80
Surfers Paradise! Easy walk to beach-Private Room $101
